Pre-Summit Descriptions
Complete Conditioning for Ice Hockey
Hockey is a fast and exciting sport requiring players to be strong on the puck, fast and agile on their skates and able to withstand powerful body contact. This specialized workshop will focus on developing the physical attributes that enhance the skills of the game: skating, puck handling, passing, shooting and body checking through systematized off ice conditioning. Coaches, trainers, athletes and parents will all gain critical hockey specific conditioning knowledge, skills and drills that will enhance on ice performance to take players to the top of their game.
Essentials of Training Young Athletes
Once reserved for professional athletes, sport conditioning is now a major component of youth sport today, but kids are not “mini” pro athletes. Coaches, trainers, athletes and parents will learn the best ways to improve speed, agility, quickness, strength, power and balance for young athletes with a specific focus on age appropriate training protocol. Looking for ways to help youth remain injury free during critical growth stages and continue to play their best? This workshop delivers the conditioning skills and drills that are valuable for young athletes aspiring to improve their short and long term sport performance.
Discover the Athlete Within
Experience the Twist training edge first hand in this exciting workshop geared to expose your inner athlete. Participants will learn skills and drills to improve body control, develop fluid movement and gain full spectrum strength to activate the entire body to be more athletic and youthful. Active adults looking to live a vibrant life with an injury free body are invited to challenge themselves and discover how this training methodology engages the mind and body in a competitive yet fun environment. The knowledge, tools and tips you’ll learn will definitely inspire you to train like an athlete.
Soccer Specific Conditioning
Fast feet, quick reaction skills, speed – endurance, strength and agility are all essential physical attributes that help a soccer player excel on the field. Coaches, trainers, players and parents will experience soccer specific conditioning skills and drills that improve execution of the game demands of dribbling, tackling, passing and shooting using the proven successful Twist training methodology. This specialized workshop will provide all the conditioning ingredients soccer players need to dominate the opposition.
Develop Athleticism for Sport Success
Many athletes and coaches focus on sport specific skill as the key feature to improving sport performance without understanding that having the physical tools that support sport skills is a critical factor in success. This practical workshop will identify how the integration of the 3 main pillars of the Twist training style – balance + movement + strength are fundamental to developing a bigger, faster, stronger and smarter athlete. Coaches, trainers, athletes and parents will experience skills and drills that can be applied to enhancing performance in multiple sports and will leave with a tool box full of exercises that promote the development of athleticism.
